About This OCILB Hydronics Practice Exam
This free practice exam covers the core topics tested on the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB) Hydronics contractor exam. The 200-question bank spans boiler operation, circulator sizing, primary/secondary piping, expansion tanks, air elimination, combustion safety, controls and wiring, water treatment, troubleshooting, and Ohio mechanical code compliance.
How Scoring Works
Each attempt selects N questions (default 100) at random from the 200-question bank using a Fisher–Yates shuffle. The default passing threshold is 70% (configurable). After submission, you can review every missed question alongside the correct answer.
Adding More Questions
To expand the bank, add entries to /data/ocilb_hydronics_question_bank.json. Each entry needs a unique id (e.g., hyd-0201), a question string, a choices array of exactly 4 strings, and a correctIndex (0–3). No code changes are required — the exam automatically picks from whatever is in the bank.
